  307.  files to extract from the compressed
  308.  file. You may specify more the one
  309.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  310.  cards are allowed.

  313.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  314.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  315.  of files in a window.  After the window
  316.  is displayed you tag the files to
  317.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.

  319.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  320.  files.

  323.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  324.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  325.  characters using the program SGREP.COM
  326.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  327.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  328.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  329.  completed to results will be listed on the
  330.  screen. A normal or Regular Expression
  331.  search may be performed.  Regular Expression
  332.  searches are always case sensitive!!!!!
  333.

  335.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  336.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  337.  of files in a window.  After the window
  338.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  339.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  340.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  341.  key to process the tagged files.
  342.  
  343. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  344.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  345.  files from the compressed file into the
  346.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  347.  via the ALT-P command.

  350.  This options allows you to specify a disk
  351.  and directory of where any extracted files
  352.  will be placed.  Specify the extract path as
  353.  follows:
  354.  DISK:\DIRECTORY
  355.  Pressing any key other than the ENTER key
  356.  will clear the extract path. To display a
  357.  directory window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  358.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the F9 key.
  359.  A single * may be entered to tell SHEZ to
  360.  use it's floating extract location
  361.  logic.
  362.  
  363. *altr !!rename highlighted!!
  364.  The ALT-R command allows you to rename the
  365.  currently hilighted file in the compressed
  366.  file. You will be prompted for a new name.
  367.  
  368. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  369.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  370.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  371.  the window pops up enter a standard DOS
  372.  file search pattern and press the enter
  373.  key.
  374.  The display will be repositioned to the
  375.  first or next file that matches the
  376.  pattern.
  377.  
  378. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  379.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  380.  the tagged file display line at the
  381.  bottom of the screen.

  384.  This option allows you to UPDATE files

  386.  of files in a window.  After the window
  387.  is displayed you tag the files to
  388.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.

  395.  comment record and the file comment

  407.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  408.  to enter the program name to run, the
  409.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  410.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  411.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  412.  to pause after each execution of your
  413.  program.
  414.  
  415. *altz  !!virus check!!
  416.  This option will check files to see if they
  417.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  418.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  419.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  420.  and have used the configuration program to
  421.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  423.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK

  427.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  428.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  429.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  430.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  431.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  432.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  433.  compressed file contents screen.
  434.  
  435. *c  !!create-new!!
  436.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  437.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  438.  to enter the
  439.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  440.  compressed file to create, whether you
  441.  want to add or move files into the new
  442.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  443.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  444.  new compressed file.
  445.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  446.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  447.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH,PAK
  448.  HAP, and UC2 files!!!!!
  449.  
  450.  You will also be asked if you want to
  451.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  452.  the entered file spec as is.
  453.  
  454.  If the compression program you choose
  455.  supports saving path information you will
  456.  also be asked if you want to save
  457.  directory information, and if you want to
  458.  recurse the directory tree.
  459.  
  460.  If you are converting from a ZIP to an ARJ
  461.  or a ARJ to a ZIP file you will also be
  462.  asked if you wish to preserve volume label
  463.  information that can be stored inside the
  464.  compressed file.  (THIS OPTION WILL ONLY
  465.  APPEAR WHEN CONVERTING THE CURRENTLY
  466.  HIGHLIGHTED FILE.  IT WILL NOT APPEAR IF
  467.  RUNNING UNDER OS/2.)
  468.  
  469.  
  470. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  471.  This option will delete all tagged files
  472.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  473.  asked to verify the delete before the
  474.  files are actually deleted from the
  475.  compressed file.
  476.  
  477. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  478.  This option will extract all tagged
  479.  files from the compressed file.
  480.  
  481. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  482.  This option will activate the alternate
  483.  file viewer if one has been defined in
  484.  the SHEZ.EV external file.
  485.  PLEASE SEE  THE USER MANUAL FOR
  486.  INSTRUCTIONS ON SETTING UP AN
  487.  ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  488.  
  489. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  490.  This option will set the compressed
  491.  file's time and date to the time and
  492.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  493.  the compressed file.
  494.  
  495. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  496.  This option will untag all currently
  497.  tagged files.
  498.  
  499. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  500.  This option will tag all files in the
  501.  currently displayed window.
  502.  
  503. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  504.  This option will convert a self
  505.  extracting file back to its native
  506.  compressed file format. The self
  507.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  508.  The normal compressed file will be
  509.  built on the same drive and directory
  510.  where self extracting file is found.
  511.  
  512. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  513.  This option allows you to copy all
  514.  tagged files from the current compressed
  515.  file into another compressed file.  The
  516.  target compressed file may be any
  517.  currently supported format.
  518.  
  519. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  520.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  521.  drop you off into disk and directory
  522.  that is specified as the extract
  523.  location.
  524.  
  525. *d  !!delete one file!!
  526.  This option will delete the currently
  527.  highlighted file from the compressed
  528.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  529.  delete before the delete is actually
  530.  done.
  531.  
  532. *e  !!extract one file!!
  533.  This option will extract the currently
  534.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  535.  drive and directory, or the
  536.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  537.  the ALT-P command.
  538.  
  539. *f      !!freshen!!
  540.  Using this option you can specify the
  541.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  542.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  543.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  544.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  545.  extensions.
  546.  
  547. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  548.  This option will temporarily exit to
  549.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  550.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  551.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  552.  the return key.
  553.  
  554. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  555.  This option will temporarily exit to
  556.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  557.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  558.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  559.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  560.  
  561. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  562.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  563.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  564.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  565.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  566.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  567.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  568.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  569.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  570.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  571.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  572.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  573.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  574.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  575.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  576.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  577.  
  578. *af2 !!smart extract
  579.  This option will invoke the smart extract function.
  580.  Smart extract will analyze the list of tagged
  581.  files and will attempt to fill the target
  582.  drive.  If all files will not fit on the target
  583.  drive a message will be displayed and the files
  584.  that could not be copied will remain tagged.
  585.  
  586. *f8  !!edit!!
  587.  This option will allow you to edit a
  588.  file in the compressed file.  This
  589.  option will only work if you specified
  590.  an editor to use when you configured
  591.  compressedPER.
  592.  
  593. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  594.  F9 allows you to indicate how to sort
  595.  the list.
  596.  ALT-F9 allows you to specify the sort
  597.  order for each sort type. The sort
  598.  order specified will remain in effect
  599.  until you exit SHEZ or re-specify.
  600.  
  601. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  602.  This option will allow you to set the
  603.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  604.  programs.  When you set the compression
  605.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  606.  change it again.
  607.  
  608.  
  609. *g  !!password!!
  610.  This option allows you to specify the password
  611.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  612.  compression program does not support passwords
  613.  an error window will appear informing you that
  614.  the option is not supported.
  615.  
  616. *i  !!show info!!
  617.  This option will show information about
  618.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  619.  files in file, total size of all files,
  620.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
